Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies are, which ones this website uses, why we use them, and what choices you have. The website is operated by Lucian Chevallier trading as Lumin (luminwebsites.com).

What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are used to make websites work correctly, remember your preferences, and give website owners useful information about how their site is being used.

Some cookies are set by the website you are visiting (first-party cookies). Others are set by third-party services embedded in the page, such as booking tools or analytics software.

Our legal basis for using cookies

Under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we are required to have a valid legal basis for placing cookies on your device.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent as they are essential for the website to function. We rely on our legitimate interest to operate a functional website for these cookies.

All other cookies — including analytics cookies — are only placed after you give your explicit consent via our cookie banner. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time using the preferences button at the bottom of this page.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the website to work. They cannot be switched off. They do not track you for marketing purposes and do not store any personally identifiable information.

Name Domain Purpose
cc_cookie luminwebsites.com Stores your cookie consent preferences so you are not asked again on every page visit. Expires after 182 days.
_GRECAPTCHA google.com Set by Google reCAPTCHA when you submit a form. Used to assess whether the submission is from a human or a bot, for security purposes. Expires after 6 months.
XSRF-TOKEN tidycal.com Security cookie set by TidyCal to prevent cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks on booking forms. Expires after 6 months.
tidycal_session tidycal.com Session cookie set by TidyCal to maintain the state of your booking session. Expires after 6 months.

Analytics cookies

These cookies are only set after you give your consent. They help us understand how visitors use this website so we can improve it. We use four analytics tools, each described below.

Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity is a session recording and heatmap tool. It records mouse movements, clicks and scrolling behaviour to help us identify usability issues and improve the website experience. Data is linked to a randomly assigned user identifier and is not linked to your name or contact details. Microsoft may also use this data for its own purposes in accordance with its privacy policy.

Name Domain Purpose
_clck clarity.ms Stores a unique user ID and site preferences for Clarity. Persists across sessions.
_clsk clarity.ms Connects multiple page views by a user into a single Clarity session recording.
CLID clarity.ms Identifies the first time Clarity saw this user on any Clarity-enabled site.
ANONCHK clarity.ms Checks whether the MUID identifier is transferred to ANID for advertising purposes. Clarity always sets this to 0, meaning it is not used for advertising.
MR clarity.ms Indicates whether to refresh the MUID identifier cookie.
MUID clarity.ms Identifies unique browsers visiting Microsoft services. Used for analytics across Microsoft domains.
SM clarity.ms Used to synchronise the MUID cookie across Microsoft domains.

PostHog

PostHog is a product analytics platform we use to understand how visitors interact with the website. It may set cookies to track sessions and user behaviour. Data collected is used solely to improve the website and is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

PostHog's specific cookies vary depending on configuration. If you would like details of the cookies currently in use, please contact us at lucian@luminwebsites.com.

Plausible and Umami

We also use Plausible and Umami for website traffic analytics. Both are privacy-first tools that operate without cookies. They do not collect personally identifiable information, do not track you across websites, and do not require consent under PECR. All data produced by these tools is fully anonymised and aggregated.

Because Plausible and Umami do not set cookies, they are not listed in the cookie table above.

Managing your cookie preferences

You can change or withdraw your consent for analytics cookies at any time using the cookie preferences button below.

Cookie preferences

You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking all cookies may affect how parts of this website function. Refer to your browser's help documentation for guidance on managing cookies.

Third-party services on this site

Some cookies on this site are set by third-party services we use. These services have their own privacy policies which govern how they handle data:

  • Google reCAPTCHA — google.com/recaptcha
  • TidyCal — tidycal.com/privacy
  • Microsoft Clarity — privacy.microsoft.com
  • PostHog — posthog.com/privacy

We have no direct control over cookies set by these third parties beyond whether we choose to use their services.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. The most current version will always be available here. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to inform users.
