‘Free’.
Is there a more suspicious word in the English language? If there is, I’d love to hear it!
It’s such a lovely word that should make us feel all warm and happy inside. But it doesn’t. We hear it, and we instantly turn into detectives – complete with deerstalker hat and magnifying glass – trying to decipher what this ‘codeword’ must really mean. But, you know, sometimes ‘free’ just means free.
Like right now.
If you didn’t already know, every Wednesday I offer a limited number of 2 completely free website consultations. There are no hidden costs. You don’t need to pay me in magic beans (or money, just to emphasise the point). You don’t even have to sign up for our web design and strategy services.
You can just walk away, and we never have to speak again. You can choose to go with a different designer or developer. Or you might choose not to move forward with your plans at all.
But I’m game if you are.

If you want to make progress quicker and really start forming a website strategy, you're probably looking for our Crescent Moon Clarity Workshop.
It's a 90-minute deep dive into you and your business. It's a great opportunity to gain clarity on what makes your business unique, the strength of your current online presence, and how your website fits into that. Plus we'll outline exactly what you want from your dream website.
You leave with clarity and a summary of our discussion but it's also the first step in our process to a new strategy-driven website, so if you have a new site in mind, this is also the one for you.
What is "Free Chat Wednesdays"?
A free consultation with me is a super informal 30-minute chat. We can work together to determine what sort of site would be best for you, and understand more about how to build a website that meets your needs. Ultimately, it’s the first step in creating a custom website that really impresses.
What do we chat about?
This is your 30 minutes – you can talk about whatever you want! Aliens? Sure. Mechanical engineering? Don't get me started. But if you want to get the most from our time, I’d recommend sticking to topics more website and strategy-related.
You might want to ask, ‘How does website development work?’, or ‘How much does a website cost?’. You might want to know what to consider when designing a website. You can find information about Lumin and me as well as our work on our website, so check these out first and leave yourself with more time to talk about you, your needs, and your goals.
What’s the aim?
At the end of our session, you will have a clearer picture of your next steps, some answers to your questions, and maybe some more questions...
I also get to understand more about your business and your vision while connecting with an exciting business owner or marketing lead.
Lastly, I hope you’ll understand more about how I might be able to help make your vision a reality. We'll have some ideas about what we can do next, and ideally some idea of web design costs or timelines.
Do I need to prepare?
You don’t have to, but it can definitely help to have some idea of what you want to discuss, and what sort of website you’re looking for. If you have time, it can be useful to think about the following:
- Your current challenges
- Your web design goals
- What information you want to share with visitors
- What functionality you need (e.g. a booking system or special integration)
- What you like/don’t like (e.g. interaction/animation/simplicity, etc.)
- Your rough budget and timeline
Why do you do it?
I think creating an engaging website and online presence is quite a complex area. There are so many different paths to success, and it’s hard for people to know which route to take. I’d like to demystify the whole thing. To make it easier – especially for exciting, characterful businesses – to get exactly what they need.
I want to save you the frustration of finding out that DIY website builders can do more harm than good. And that AI web design – as amazingly futuristic and cool-sounding as it is – doesn’t always produce the best outcomes.
Plus, it's just a great way to meet new people!
