What Happens on a Free Website Consultation with Lumin?

    So, you're thinking about booking

You've probably been here before. You're on someone's website, considering a consultation, and wondering: is this a genuine conversation or a 30-minute sales call with a different label?

Fair question. So let me tell you exactly what happens.

    What the call actually is

It's a free 30-minute conversation where we figure out whether I can actually help you, and if so, how.

Before we get on the call, you'll fill out a short form with some details about your business, your project, and your budget. That prep makes the call a lot more useful. We spend the time talking through your actual situation rather than covering basics from scratch.

On the call itself, I'll ask questions, share what I think, and be honest about whether what you're describing is something Lumin is the right fit for. If it's not, I'll say so and point you somewhere better if I can.

No agenda I'm steering you through. No pitch at the end. Just a useful conversation.

    Tip
Not quite ready for a call? If you'd rather start with something you can action on your own, get your free New Moon Audit. I'll record a short Loom video walking through your website and show you exactly what I'd change — no call needed.

    The questions I'll ask you

This is where it gets useful to know what's coming. Before the call, I'll ask you to fill out a project scoping form. Here's the kind of thing it covers:

    About your business

    • What does your business do, and who are you doing it for?
    • What specific products or services do you offer?

    About the project

    • In a couple of sentences, describe what you want to be made.
    • What are your goals? What problems do you want to solve?
    • If this project went perfectly — what would that look and feel like for you?

    About the website itself

    • What content and functionality do you need?
    • What look and feel are you imagining? How do you want people to feel when they use it?
    • Are there any problems with your current website you're already aware of?
    • Do you have brand guidelines, existing copy, or legal policies we'd need to work with?

    Budget and timeline

    • What budget do you have to invest?
    • When do you want to start, and when do you need it done?

These aren't trick questions or boxes to tick. They're the same questions I'd need answered anyway before putting a project proposal together, so filling them in before the call means we can get into the detail faster.

On the call, I'll build on your answers, push on anything that needs more thinking, and share what I'd actually do if we worked together.

Who gets the most from this

People who come to this call having done a bit of thinking. You don't need a fully formed brief, but you need a general sense of what's not working and what you're trying to achieve.

The organisations I work with are usually purpose-driven: sustainability, green infrastructure, green tech, trade and membership bodies, ethical consumer brands.

They've typically outgrown their current site, know their online presence isn't matching the credibility of their actual work, and want someone who understands both the strategic and the technical side of fixing it.

If that's you (or close to it) have a useful conversation.

If you're at a very early stage, still figuring out the business, or wanting a full website redesign with a budget under £1,500 this probably isn't the right call right now, and I'd rather be honest about that upfront.

    What happens after

After the call, one of a few things happens.

If there's a clear fit, I'll put together a proposal. If the project is more complex than expected or you need help with discovery, we might talk about starting with a Crescent Moon Clarity Workshop — a paid 90-minute strategy session that gives you a full picture of what your website needs to do and how, before any build begins.

And if you're not quite ready to commit to a full project, we can talk through what would make sense as a starting point.

Whatever the outcome, you'll leave the call knowing more than when you arrived about your website, about the process, and about what your next step actually is.
